Las Vegas, NV – February 18, 2026 marked a special milestone for Southern Nevada Senior Law Program (SLP) as the City of Las Vegas officially declared “Senior Law Program Day.” It was a moment of recognition not just for the organization, but for the thousands of seniors in the community who depend on access to justice.
The recognition started with a reception hosted by Councilwoman Kara Kelly (Ward 2), and continued as city leaders acknowledged the critical role SLP plays in protecting the rights and dignity of Las Vegas’ older residents.
For Southern Nevada Senior Law Program, the day was a powerful reminder of the mission at the heart of their work. Every day, the organization sees what happens when seniors cannot afford legal help. They face wrongful evictions. They are denied benefits they earned. They fall victim to exploitation. Senior Law Program Day was an opportunity to shine a light on these challenges and reaffirm the organization’s commitment to being a safety net for the valley’s most vulnerable residents.
To commemorate the day, SLP created a recap video capturing the spirit of their work and the community they serve. The organization invites the public to watch it and see the difference that free legal services make in the lives of local elders.
