Staff Attorney (FT or PT position available)

SLP is currently accepting applications for a full-time or part-time Staff Attorney. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: advising and counseling senior clients in one-on-one appointments on matters including basic estate planning, eviction matters, and/or consumer matters, and more, drafting related letters and documents, representing senior clients in settlement negotiations, representing senior clients in court proceedings as needed, conducting educational seminars in the senior client community, maintaining records as required by grant funders, and assisting with supervision of legal support staff.
The ideal candidate should hold a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school, have three years or more experience practicing law (estate planning and consumer matters preferred), have a current license in good standing with the State Bar of Nevada and be sensitive to the needs of the senior community. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook, as well as experience with a case management system, such as LegalServer or equivalent. Bilingual candidates highly encouraged.
We offer a Monday through Thursday, 38-hour work week (FT) or flexible schedule of 20-30 hours per week (PT), with a competitive benefits package including company-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance, a retirement plan and generous paid time off, along with flexibility to maintain a positive work-life balance. The full-time salary range for this position is $70,000-$82,000 annually; the part-time hourly rate is negotiable. There is career growth potential in this role.

Qualifications
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
• 3+ years’ law practice experience in a private or non-profit law firm
• Licensed to practice in Nevada and in good standing with the Nevada State Bar
• Sensitive to the needs of the senior community and the ability to effectively communicate with them regarding their concerns, both legal and social
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, organization, cooperation, flexibility, and creativity
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to effectively supervise and give direction as well as support to designated staff members
